Tito Puente Latin Music Series celebrates 15 years!

In honor of Latin music icon Tito Puente, every summer, live Latin music comes to Boston parks. Come dance and enjoy our annual tradition on six different nights at parks across the city!

On Thursday, July 7th, we kick off the series at O’Day Playground with Gozarsa, right in the heart of Villa Victoria. Gozarsa lays down a beat that will make you set the dance floor ablaze and get your body grooving with their unique sound of traditional and contemporary Afro-Cuban Salsa music.

This seven-piece band plays traditional Latin standards and clave-based rhythms with jazz harmonies and improvisation techniques. You will hear their amazing original musical pieces and covers of the tropical music everyone loves.

Come dance your heart away as their sonero sings: “Grupo Gozarsa llegó, ¡Gózalo ahora!”

On Thursday, July 14th, also at O’Day Playground, enjoy the “Good Times Salsa Dura!” of Boston-based band Latin Logic as they mix old-school salsa with a special touch of Latin jazz and Afro Caribbean rhythms.

Latin Logic radiates energy! It is led by Angel Subero and Manolo Mairena. After many years of working together on different projects, they decided to join forces to bring the best music to the dance floor with the incomparable feeling of the son montuno, guajira, bomba, bolero, and salsa rhythms r! Theirs is a traditional sound based on the music of bands from the ‘60s and ‘70s delivered with a modern approach.

They respect and maintain the tradition of old-school salsa with a special touch of Latin jazz and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, creating a fusion of flavors from Latin America. All the band members are among the most in-demand musicians in the New England area. They come from Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, USA, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, and this wide array of members and backgrounds gives this band their unique sound.
