During the summer months many of us have more free time, but not a lot of things to do. This time of year is a great opportunity to become more active and lend a helping hand to your community. For this reason we decided to come up with a list of places you can volunteer during the summer. We wanted to give you some ideas of all the great contributions you can make by giving a little bit of your time, and also have some fun!

  1. American Red Cross: As a Red Cross volunteer you can assist families in their greatest times of need. There are so many different programs that you can choose whichever you like depending on your comfort level or expertise. Whether it’s assisting individuals and families displaced by disaster, providing emergency food supplies, donating blood, or providing care and comfort to service members and support to their families, they are always in need of extra hands.   2. Cradles to Crayons: You can volunteer and also encourage your kids to do the same with this organization that assures that children in need get clothing, school supplies, toys, and much more.   1. Ethos: This organization focuses on providing affordable assisted living At for the elderly and disabled. You can volunteer by filling out this application and see what department best fits your skills.
  2. 826 Boston: This organization helps children hone their writing skills. You can volunteer for one of their several programs like the Summer Theater and Writing Camp or their Creative Writing Workshops. To sign up fill out this application

Animal Rescue League of Boston: This organization is dedicated towards rescuing animals from suffering, cruelty, abandonment, and neglect providing them with the care they need and facilitating adoptions through their shelters.
