We Stand United Against Injustice of All Kinds

Our hearts are heavy for the families and communities reeling from the recent killings of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. Black lives matter. We also honor the anger of so many who are protesting systematic and institutionalized racism across the country.

IBA was born more than 50 years ago from the power of protest. Facing discrimination and displacement, our founders came together with hundreds of protestors to amplify their voices and create change in the Puerto Rican community. Through community action, we fought to preserve the right to live in our South End neighborhood and won.

Now, we stand in solidarity and join in protesting against the racism, injustice, and police brutality that for so long has and continues to threaten Black and Brown community members across the country.

Here at IBA, we remain committed to examining how we can be antiracist in all of our work. We hear our Black Sisters and Brothers and stand with them as one community.

We believe in the power of community to create a brighter future that we can build together.
