Starting on September 20, Cristian Roldán will be creating a mural called DIÁSPORA COLORS - DEJANDO HUELLAS to take us on a journey of our rich Puerto Rican ancestry, composed by Taino and Afro-Caribbean elements that allegory to migration and the aesthetic legacy of our ancestors.

Roldán is a Puerto Rican artist and muralist based in Chicago with extensive experience creating community-based murals that represent the locals’ values. He is also the founder of Diaspora Designs with the objective of creative public artwork that preserves the collective memory, articulates relevant topics in the diaspora, and makes visible the diaspora presence through the embellishment of public spaces.

Comenzando el 20 de septiembre, Cristian Roldán estará creando un mural llamado DIÁSPORA COLORS - DEJANDO HUELLAS sobre nuestra rica ascendencia puertorriqueña, compuesto por elementos taínos y afrocaribeños que representan la migración y el legado estético de nuestros ancestros.

Roldán es un artista y muralista puertorriqueño viviendo en Chicago con amplia experiencia en la creación de murales comunitarios que representan los valores locales. También es el fundador de Diaspora Designs cuyo objetivo es crear obras de arte públicas que preserven la memoria colectiva, articulen temas relevantes en la diáspora y hagan visible la presencia de la diáspora a través del embellecimiento de los espacios públicos.
