If you want results, Rachel Madariaga, IBA’s new Chief Development Officer is the person to turn to. Having joined the executive team in late-September, Rachel’s addition is sure to help catapult IBA in extraordinary ways. With a results-driven approach that has garnered her impressive success in her eight-year career with Jumpstart for Young Children, she is excited to bring her experience and enthusiasm to IBA.

In her new role, Rachel will create and manage IBA’s fundraising campaigns, oversee the grant solicitation and procurement process, as well as work to grow the organization’s major gifts program. It is with her unwavering passion to create change in the community that Rachel brings a unique perspective and action-oriented drive to the IBA executive team.

“IBA’s 50+ year history underscores the incredible power of community to create change. In today’s world, building community is more important than ever and I want to actively contribute to those efforts. I was also very excited to work for a non-profit led by a woman of color because the knowledge, experiences, and perspectives of women of color are invaluable to the sector. I have so much respect for Vanessa, the work she has done with IBA and her leadership throughout the city. I knew this was an incredible opportunity,” Rachel shared in a recent interview.

It is through her academic studies that took her abroad to Turkey and down South to Georgia, that Rachel learned the importance of listening to and understanding people’s lived experiences and the power of using connection and stories to bring people together. And, it is through this lens that she hopes to be able to spread IBA’s impact far and wide.

“I want people to fall in love with IBA, what we do, and experience how coming together can truly benefit all of us. By building on IBA’s many current successes and sharing our work with a larger audience we can grow as an organization and as a community.”

We are proud to have Rachel as our new Chief Development Officer and look forward to her helping IBA fulfill our mission!
