Financial Empowerment
IBA’s Financial Empowerment Program empowers residents of its affordable housing community to achieve their financial goals.
IBA’s Financial Empowerment Program supports its community in achieving financial stability by providing accessible, bilingual financial education programming and personalized financial coaching. Primarily serving the residents of IBA’s affordable housing community and the surrounding South End and Lower Roxbury neighborhoods, the Financial Empowerment Program is designed to accommodate participants who come to the program with existing debt obligations and who are seeking a strong financial future for their families.
The Financial Empowerment Program offers both one-on-one financial coaching and group financial education classes that cover topics such as budgeting, managing loans, building credit, opening a bank account, savings and eliminating debt.
Since its founding in 2017, the program has grown to serve over 300 residents annually, with demand for financial education services continuing to rise. By facilitating access to high-quality financial coaching and education within the community, the Financial Empowerment program is able to uniquely support residents in growing their knowledge and becoming more confident in developing goals towards financial prosperity.
