Yes, the Tito Puente Latin Music Series really does get better with every concert!

Yes, the Tito Puente Latin Music Series really does get better with every concert!

Porque esto no acaba hasta que se acaba.

On Thursday, August 4th at Mozart Park, Astoria Salsa Company will have everyone moving to the music!

Founded and led by acclaimed multi-award winner, percussionist, and composer Samuel Torres, this band melds vocals, piano, drums, congas, bongos and trombones, creating a stunning sound that we love. .

Their unique music is a fusion of NYC-style and contemporary salsa with cumbia, vallenato, merengue, and other Latin American rhythms that make dancing inevitable.

And last but not least, on Friday, August 12th at Boston Common, the crowds will groove with Eguie Castrillo when he plays the timbales like he used to do with Tito Puente himself! ¡Wepa!

Born in Puerto Rico, Eguie Castrillo has played with some of the most acclaimed personalities of the music world, including Jennifer Lopez, Arturo Sandoval, Steve Winwood, Paquito D'Rivera, and Donna Summer, to name a few. But there’s more! He also participated in the 1998 Grammy award-winning CD, Hot House, alongside Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

He currently serves as a professor at the renowned Berklee College of Music. He will perform his new musical production, Muévete y Báilalo, paying homage to different salsa dancers.

This year’s Tito Puente Latin Music Series concerts have been a huge success so far thanks to you showing up, spreading the word, and dancing your hearts out. Keep an eye out for future IBA events; we guarantee they will bring Bostonians to their feet and get everyone dancing!
